Led lights

#1 Post by ezrollin » Fri Jul 13, 2012 7:06 pm

I was looking at some leds floods on ebay [10w/110v/900 lumens/waterproof];I plan to mount eight of these on the rails[4 each slide,2 in front] aimed about ten feet out. This is for pole fishing[crappie]at night in fresh water only.I'm not that familiar with leds and wonder if it will be adequate? Anyone had any experience with the leds?

Since LEDS are a low voltage deal anyway, you should avoid a 120v solution on a boat. I would try to find a similar lamp in 12v.
The old school solution was a 7" sealed beam headlight glued into a styrofoam swim ring.

You can Google "marine led lighting." You'll find 12 volt lighting in all price ranges--cheap to expensive.

Thanks Guys,I'm looking into using an inverter 110ac / 12dc with my Honda 1000 generator,I don't like the idea of 110 volts either.I'll check out the 12v leds on ebay.
