Sorry, I can't help you. We are down around the Arrowhead area on the lake. We only go to McAlester if we need to go to Wally World or eat at Pete's Place in Krebs.

If you are going to be trailering your toon on 69, be very careful on the stretch of road right about the town of Eufaula. That is some rough road (see my other thread about breaking strapd due to boat bouncing on trailer).

The lake is really low right now so you have to keep to the channel and watch your depth finder. Our neighbor rescued 3 pontoons this past weekend with his Seadoo when they got stuck in some of the low water areas.

Good/trustworthy places.... nope. FWIW: we have got to be getting close to being the meth capital of the world. Don't leave anything that can be sold, bartered, pawned, etc. in your boat, even if it is in locked storage. If I had to call to find somewhere I'd start by calling Duchess Creek Marina to see if they had any suggestions. They may have some dry storage boat units available.

Here are a couple of numbers

Duchess Creek Marina - (918)484-5210
Eufaula Cove Marina - (918)689-7723

What are you needing and for how long???

Found a real nice secure 12x40 with a concrete floor at The New Holland Dealer off Electric Ave for $125.00 A month.

Now where do I launch for the deepest and cleanest part of the lake?

Clean?? :rofl :rofl Remember, you are talking about Eufaula. I've never been as far south as McAlister. We are in Rock Creek Cove. We are 30'+ in our cove. Going north, the channel is 40' deep and well marked. But going south, the channel isn't marked - most of the lake doesn't have channel markers.

The deepest area would probably be at Eufaula Cove - about 30 miles north of McAlister on 69. The Party Cove is at an area called The Cut - it is up across from the dam.

How long are you spending time on Eufaula - or are you moving from Tenkiller? We'll be going to Tenkiller this weekend :lol3 - nephews are coming in from Colorado.

We have sold our place on Tenkiller and have a house under contract in McAlester. So I will be a dirty water boater unless I go up around Porum area

Where you going to be at Tenkiller?? Be careful as lake is really down. In Burnt Cabin has a lot of timber is showing, Needles point is dry, Be careful around Cherokee Landing, take a wide turn near bluffs across the way. Between Cookson and Pettit Bay stay in channel as shallow bars on west side. Out from Strayhorn is a bad spot so watch and be safe.

So far only Porum was the only place to have blue green algae - but that's been a few weeks. That would actually put you in closer The Cut, if you go to Porum. That's just a long drive to trailer the boat. And the road off of 69 is narrow and winding.

We have some friends that have a place down by Barnacle Bill on Tenkiller. I'll definitely make sure to follow him since he knows the channels there.

Congrats on your new residence in Big Mac. Have you been to the Prison Rodeo before? That's always a good time. :nana Anyways, hope we can hook up on the lake sometime.

Betty has been to rodeo but not me. I thought Cherokee County had bad roads but damn these suck. Yep we will have to get together some time.
If you know anyone looking for good toon storage where I have mine has new ones under construction. Up here for a 12 x 40 concrete you pay nearly $200 a month and require a year lease. So $125 for new secure storage is a good price

Loyd, welcome to southeast Oklahoma & Lake Eufaula. IMO: leaving Tenkiller for Eufaula's gotta suck because Tenkiller is so beautiful and Eufaula is, well.... Eufaula. If clean(er) water is what your after, you'll need to keep to the south end of the lake. If I were coming from McAlester, I'd probably put in @ #9 marina or Eufaula marina.
The "cut" is where all the action is, but is also where all the city folk go, so I'm not over there much during the major holidays. If I am going to the cut, I will trailer to Duchess Creek marina and put in there. The ramp is adequate.

My favorite marina is Area 51, just north of Arrowhead, but running the channel when the water is low can be tricky and it is stumpy. In fact, everywhere south of Hwy 9 can be tricky and is not well marked, in general. In fact, as low as Eufaula is right now, it's best to stay in the channel. When we get more than a couple of feet below normal alot of sand barges and stumps will become a factor.

Our lake patrol is pretty laid back and about the only time you see significant law presence is @ the cut on the big holidays. County has been known to show up with drug dogs on the island(which is hilarious to watch).

One more thought: since your in McAlester, you need to head east to Krebs and try some Choc beer and lamb fries. :thumbsup

Oh no, LR, this is very sad news!!! I hope it is a good move for you and Betty, though. You had such a lovely place and I thought you really found the place you belonged. Be sure to take the "ugly" boat with you from your front yard. hehe Is this new place very far from where you lived before? We will have to come and visit you at your new lake. What about the Redneck Boat Club? I'm sure they will miss you guys a lot. Hopefully you can still get together sometimes. Love ya, Alma

Thanks Alma but the ugly boat stays with the place, that's what sold it.
Yes we thought we would die here but so hard to keep the place up with the drought and all. Jessie works in McAlester so she can see her mom more.
Redneck Yachtclub has already gone by by. People change and move on though

So glad you will be near Jessie. Family always is the priority. So sorry about the Redneck Yacht Club. You'll just have to create a new one at your new location. Best wishes on the new adventure!! A.
