Another muriatic acid question,,

As my wife says, " you aint shot in the ass with brains, are ya?" Well, search didnt get me my answer, so sorry to post an age old question. I bought some muriatic acid and am getting anywhere from 50/50 to 30 to 1 dilution ratio. I have used raw aluminum acids in the past and like the results.
I would like opinions on dilution ratios. I just have waterline and dirt/dark streaks on the sides of the toons from the rail screws, nothing major.
Thanks for any consructive advice. And I do plan to use the acid, and wont be polishing. I gave that up with the Harley,,,

HCL is tough on aluminum. I would start with a little splash in a gallon of water. You can always add more acid.

I would have to agree with GregF HLC is too strong I've used Alumiprep 33 for years on aluminum with no problems put a little on some scotch bright scrub a little and rinse with water.

Well, once again the neighbors had a comedy session. The acid didnt work too bad, but the plunger kept melting on my spray bottle. Went thru 3 of them. The sizzle is a bit unnerving also.

So,, screw that, Im going to the shop for something a bit "better" . I ran out of spray bottles and still have 1/2 a toon to clean.

The best thing is a real acid sprayer. They have them at Home Depot. I needed one to acid stain my driveway.
