Do you polish the Anodized Aluminum on your boat?

I'm going to polish the painted surfaces on our toon, again, using the newest McGuires polish and i'm curious if you also polish the Anodized Aluminum on your boat?

You "Polish" anodized aluminum by buffing all the anodizing off. Then you are committed to polishing for the rest of your life.

Greg F's right.

You just polish your toons, not the railings. If you were going to use one of the muriatic acid based commercial cleaners on the toons, be careful to cover up your railings. It'll eat the anodization off.

Funny thing: I bought my Bennington 1 month ago--built in May, 2012. The dealer kept it inside a big warehouse for a few weeks. It's only seen fresh water 4 times, and the boat is oxidizing quickly. When I do the 20 hour service, I plan on applying aluminum polish and cleaning with lacquer cleaner. Then, it's going to get a couple coats of Sharkhide before going back to the boathouse.

I want to wax it, not polish the Anodizing off. I sent McGuires an e-mail asking what product is best for this, or none at all.

By Anodized Aluminum, are you talking the rails holding the outside panels in place? I know some manufacturers do anodize the rails, alot are just painted over the natural aluminum. I've never thought of waxing them, they always look good until they sun fade. I don't think a thin coat of good ole wax and a light buff off with a rag would hurt. After your'e done with yours, can you come do mine? :prayer

McGuires said that the Ultimate Wax would be a great product to use on my Anodized Aluminum.
