What ideas for pontoon rests?

For winter storage what does everyone like to place their tubes on? I see cinder blocks in use around my lake and the price is right--but that seems a little harsh & unstable for resting a round thin aluminum tube on. Some sort of stand with a nylon sling would be ideal if such a thing exists.

Typical here is concrete blocks with a 2x8 on top.
Getting them level is the trick, use a string line and the blocks go "holes up"

Nothing is level on the lakefront :donno
With a bit of shovel work I could probably achieve L-R level but F-R will be on a gentle slope (sloped from the street right to the water's edge).

In line and on either side of the tubes--or cross-ways?

I've seen online plastic pods (set of 4) that resemble a stepstool but $90 for a set of contoured buckets seems a little steep.

A thought--What about setting it down on 4 old tires? Enough "squish" to conform to the radius of the tubes, won't scratch, won't dent, won't slide, costs nothing.

I have seen lots of pontoons locally that sign on tires for extended periods.

My marina guy says that anything hard is a total no-no. Unless you have the rests PERFECTLY aligned, you put unequal stresses on your tubes. He has seen them bent that way.
He never sets a boat down on anything other than old tires, which are strong, but have enough give to equalize the weight.

I've seen them on many dealership lots sitting on big styrofoam chunks--ex-floating dock floatation. They're about 2-3 feet off the ground that way, and styrofoam doesn't scratch the toons.
