hello i am new here ...... could this SOWS ear be turned into a silk purse.... it is 23 feet long..... made from light gauge steel .... at one time it had a IB mercruiser jet , apparently built for a movie set in southern Alberta... it is 8 feet wide and needs some attention , from a plasma cutter and a MiG welder , both of which i am very handy with ...... .. i recently purchased a new to me Jaguar AWD ice blue in color in mint shape (why ) in a town of 8000 you have to be different , or drive the same thing as everyone else.... this is why i like this wreck of the Hesmeras. it is different ... i can see this going from 8 feet on the trailer , to 14 on the water by the touch of a button and alot of head scratching

so what are everyone thoughts ....... thanks PONYBOY

yes it is Bamaman.... , This is why i find it appealing , i don't want to pull up on a beach and be parked beside a similar vessle . i have not even seen the vessel in person , just pics , as it is 5 hrs south of me , but i have a cousin that lives 1/2 hr away.......... this toon is powder coated and the trailer is also custom made

it is cool gramps thanks for looking , it is light gauge steel , aluminum is lighter for sure . i have been a welder for 25 years , but not a big fan of of welding it ( aluminum ) steel is a piece of cake . any idea what the difference in weight would be .... and what size engine will get this SOW on plane ...surely not that little 40 hp.... and yes the price is low as it is nearing the end of the season here .

I would think that with the flat bottom on the pontoons it would be on a plane without much horse power but the ride would be rougher than a round pontoon. To figure out what the biggest motor you can carry start adding weights on the back end to see how it sits and find a motor of equal weight.

Ask if you can take her for a spin around the lake to see how it rides.

thanks margaritaman .... that make perfect sense ..... as a welder i could reinforce the transom easy enough to mount almost anything . but i'm thinking 100 hp should get her moving

My first thought is that would be a good platform for a twin engine setup. Maybe a pair of 90hp's.
