This is a semi-loaded 'thanks'.
But really, THANK YOU TO ALL! I hope I didn't wear any of you out with questions and what not, but this site is great and all of YOU helped me and my wife go to 'pontoon school' and make purchasing one go easily!
So yes, we finally bought one!!! Its an 05 Sundance Majestic Legend, 26ft and an upper deck with a 140hp motor.
(photo attached)
BUuuuttt....i do need some 'outboard' school lessons. The only watercraft we have is the waverunner, so the outboard motor is new to me. I've read up on winterizing, changing lower oil, plugs, etc. I even found a random youtube clip on changing the fuel filters (how often to do that?) Anything else? Im mechanically inclined, just need to know 'what' to do and ill do it.
Also, once im done for the day and I pull the boat back out of the water, what is next? Like on the waverunner, we have drain plugs to pull, etc. Is there anything like that? Drain water out of the motor? (im assuming they're water cooled so there would be some to drain after use?) Also, I usually flush the waverunner each outing, is the necessary for an outboard?
Like I said, it was a 'thanks' with more questions attached!
But SERIOUSLY, thank you

all and I look forward to sharing more photos and stories with you all!

LV nice boat, it looks real clean. Outboards are self bailing and there isn't anything to do to it after you use it, especially in warm climate.
I would contact the mfg of motor and get an owners manual and it will tell you everything you should know or look on ebay.
Try to use gas with no ethonol, if the eng is a 2 stroke use good oil. Have fun.

Corrie... congratulations on the new toon... from the pic she looks to be a very clean boat.... very nice.... You asked about flushing the outboard... If you were using it in salt water I would say flush it after every outing if possible, but on inland lakes, it's not crucial. Having said that, I usually hook the garden hose up to my yamaha and fun clean water thru it about once a month or so... or you can do the same thing with a set of muffs.... just make sure if you're using muffs to run the motor.... if you're flushing with the garden hose, you do not need to run the motor...as for winterizing.. I live in the deep south and my boat is stored indoors in a well insulated ( but not heated ) building... I've had it for 2 years and I have not winterized... I would suggest that if you don't drain your fuel out of your tank at the end of the season, be sure to use a stabilizer on the fuel left in the tank... again, enjoy that new toon...

That's why we buy toons. Very little maint on them other than cleaning and treating the seats. Looks like you got what you were looking for. Post some more pictures of it showing the insides and up a bit closer. Looks real good.

Lose that furniture and it becomes pretty much maintenance free
Keep fresh oil in the motor (up and down) and you are good to go.

Can't tell how much vinyl you got but get it clean as you can an apply several coats of 303. you can pick it up online, an the gal is cheaper per oz.

Up and Down? As in the lower unit oil?

I always flush my motor after use, but I am in saltwater. Still not a bad idea if you run in dirty water or think you may have got some sand in the intake.

Yep, just run the 100 hour check list but that is the big one. Change all the the oil and hit the lube points. Other than that it is just a good look over.

Is there a link to one of those?

The various maintenance check lists are usually in your owner's manual and they are in the shop manual.
This is the Yamaha F70 book
