200 Bentley cruise noise diving

Just bought a 2011 200 Bentley with a 60hp motor. Was out this weekend and had 6 adults and 4 kids roughly 1700lbs boat is rated for 14 people and 2050lbs. My trouble is when I slow down or stop the front of the boat goes completely under water and fills the boat with water through the door. Happened a few times tell I parked it very scary anyone else have this problem.

Sounds like you have too many people up front try to have them move to better distribute the load

Agree with Ray, Try hitting the waves going fast as this keeps the front end higher. Do you have your motor trimmed out ? this will help keep your boat front end higher also.
What size toons do you have? if they are 23" toons then you will get water over front on occassion as they ride lower in the water.

Welcome to the forum!
Big folks toward the back. Don't take big wakes head on.

Yep, gotta move 'em back. Just be carefull how you say it. "Honey, please move to the back of the boat before you sink us." might not go over too well. Don't ask me how I know.

Welcome
Keep in mind those quantities you listed are max lbs and people. That's a pretty good crowd even on a 24ft. As said distribute you weight not only bow and stern but port and starboard. Enjoy

Had that happen ONE time and scared the hell of me, didn't know what was happening but we did move folks around and didn't decelerate so quickly and never had it happen again.
It felt like we were a submarine!

I had the 2008 version of that boat with the same motor. Only happened to us once and it was strictly related to the number and weight and placement of people. That is a good size crew you had.

Your rating is based on 150 pounds per person...when was the last time you saw folks weighing that much?
Bet your 6 adults and the kids weighed more than you estimated.
Every boat has the bow drop when its slows below displacement speed 1.34 times the square root of the length of the waterline. In your case, thats about 7 knots. the stern wave catches up and lifts the stern.

I agree with the others. I don't think you have a problem with your boat, I think you are pushing the limit on people / weight on the boat, and how the load is distributed on the boat.... heavier loads to the rear, also, when you slow down your boat, don't back out of the throttle too quickly, that will cause your boat to "dive" a bit as well.. I've got a 20 foot benny and I'm comfortable with 6 people on board, 8 max......

had the same issue on my Southbay on the 4th of July. The full figure people gravitated toward the front, and the kids were in the back. Everyone was wondering why water was splashing up on them. Definately a sensative conversation to have though.
