What say ye?

The Fiesta guy in Tampa is courting me but I am not sure I have ever looked over a Fiesta boat. He says he will build what I want but I am not sure about it. I don't think I like the solid rail material to start with. I like the rail to be open at the top so you can tie things to it.

I have never heard of them, I guess I will have to see if they have a web site. I actually like the side panels go to the top of the rail so the backside of the lounges are not exposed to the sun. But thats just me.

I don't have, nor want any furniture. That ends up being about 90% of the maintenance from what I see here and the sun kills it anyway.

I am really thinking the closest thing to furniture I will buy is a leaning post like you see on high end center consoles.

I am talking to Carl at Fiesta and he sounds like he will make me what I want within the limits of what they can do with the parts they have.

He did send me some work boat pictures of things they have built.

Great boats! Like you said they are manufactured just up the road form me. They tailor to salt water use so it's good for us. I doubt they are known outside of Florida, but I see tons of them around here. A rental company in our canal uses them and they seem to hold up very well. I've seen a few neighbors get new boats recently, and they are all Fiesta. The rails are tough to get stuff to fit on, but with your skills you can find a way to clamp stuff on, or if you're really commited just bolt it on. Margarita man has one too, and I've see a couple other members with them.

The new Fiestas have a rib on the side of the toon to prevent dents when you bump into pier posts. The older ones have a rib on the bottom of the pontoon so you don't have to worry about beaching. The closed sides are two aluminum sheets with styrofoam in the center so if you hit a rogue wave it does not rip out the aluminum. The decks are either carpeted or fiber glassed in much like a regular runabout for easy maintenance. These boats are rated for salt water use so it is not as popular in the inland states. Also they are not as rich and plush looking as other brands but very practical to use for the Florida climate.

He sent me pictures of a work boat they built with a top rail above the panels. I will go that way if we work a deal. I also like the idea of the one with the 45 degree corners instead of that extended side rail over the front porch. That looks like a potential swimming pool when you catch a wave.

I am still waiting to hear about a ballpark price from Carl.


I may end up going up there to talk to them if it sounds good. I have a friend I visit in Odessa for golf and bass fishing so it would not be a wasted trip even if nothing worked out.

I suspect they leave that up to their dealers.
