Waders

#1 Post by guy48065 » Mon Oct 15, 2012 10:13 am

Time to take out the boat & dock...and I haven't even had the boat away from the dock yet :(
Anyways I need to get waders for the wife & I. I don't want to pay more than I have to for something I'll only wear for an hour 2x per year...any suggestions? I'm more than willing to delay the job if there's some smoking good deal online :)

Im assuming Guy needs the waders for the docks. We pull our docks out every season and the waders come in handy. We disconnect them (12 sections) and pull them right up the river bank with the truck and chains. We always have one person (my brother-in law) in the water where its 3-4 feet deep just to keep the docks lined up as we drag them onto land.

Guy- I have an old Walmart pair of waders, cant even remember what I paid for them so long ago :donno

make sure you get waders with the built in boot if youare goign to use them just in a while,

just the boots for my waders where about $80, plus the $150 for the waders, but I got them to go fishing in them.

they are all over the place in price and quality,

these look like good affordable options

I picked up a pair of neoprene full-boot waders at Meijer last night for $90. More than I wanted to spend but way less then I've seen some similar ones elsewhere. Could have bought cheaper non-insulated but I wanted some protection against the frigid Michigan water.

I had a pair 30 years ago to go smelt dipping & they dry-rotted without ever being used again. I hope these outlast me.
