Prop damage

Noticed this when winterizing.
Leave be? hammer it out? Replace?

Fix it, its hard on seals.

Try to hammer it out, but be aware that it will most likely break the piece out. You might try to just smooth it out with a file. If the piece breaks out it will be out of balance and hard on seals and will have a vibration. Good spare though..

If you're gonna beat it with a hammer, try a little heat. I would get it fixed professionally though.

Send it out to your local prop shop. They're not expensive on such little repairs. The prop shop will make sure the cup and balance is right.
I used to go thru a prop a year--until I bought a stainless prop. It was 12 years old when the engine in my I/O dropped a bearing bolt--and without a scratch.

I also would find a local prop shop to fix it. They will make it like new for a few dollars.

Normally I would just straighten it out myself, but it looks liek you have a little tear in the ding. I would take this one in to get it fixed. Do not run it as is.

I just sent mine in to be fixed. cost 40.00 and 10.00 shipping. looks like brand new.
PropMD.com is where i sent mine. turn around time is fast also.
