I spend most of my time on Pomme de Terre but am considering checking out Truman next year....My boat is stored at Pomme so I am on the Highway 65 side of Truman.
Can you guys suggest where the best tooning area is on the lake?
Where would you put in if you were coming from Pomme up 65?
I'm also planning on some toon camping as well..what part of lake?
Thanks!

We go past Truman everytime we go down to our place at Lake of the Ozarks. I pulled into the lakes boat ramps with the Baja behind me a few years ago and was so tempted to dunk it in, but time was just too short. One of these days I will dunk the Premier in. Its looks so calm and quiet compared to LotO. I'm interested as well!

Well the best place from 65 you can try Osage Bluff on 83 or Truman State Park off 7 or Long Shoal off of 7. I like doing the Osage arm or the Pomme arm from Osage Buff. Lots of good places to camp on the lake. Here is a link to a map of the lake.

PM me as well for info. we launch at Talley Bend. It is 2 miles away from our lots.
There is a gas station on C hiway right at launch entrance. Closest marina is Osage Bluff. thats 26 miles by water from Talley bend. (Redbeard's suggetion) Either one is great stay on the Osage or Pomme arm and you wont see much for company. I prefer the Osage arm as you can tell.

Guys if you want glass to take the toons on Truman is it. I saw the most boats on Labor day last year and that was 25 or so. On a 20 mile round trip!!!! Careful of the timber stay in the main channels. anything 6ft and less take it slow because of submerged trees, It is second nature to me by now I know where most of them are. I have had THE FLOATER for 4 years now and not one ding or nic in the prop!!!

I would agree with Osage Bluff as well. Also Sterett Creek is right on 65 HWY just north of Warsaw and is a good place to put in. That give you access to all the fingers of the lake by the dam. I use to boat out of Sterett when I was trying to avoid the rough water on the Ozarks with my runabout before I bought my place at Pomme De Terre.

The left circle is my place, bottom right is Redbeards and above him is Osage Bluff Marina. If you are familar with Boy Scout camp it borders my camping resort.
