Under bow ladder - problems stowing

My boat has one of these under the bow:

It's a great ladder and easy to deploy, but stowing it is a pain in the ass. You basically have to wiggle it up inch by inch shaking it up and down until it slides in.
It doesn't look bent or damaged.
Does anyone else have one these, seen the problem, and solved it? Can it be adjusted?
I am open for a different style of ladder but I would hope to fix what I have first. It's a very sturdy ladder.

I took a wed strap and tied it to the bottom step, pull it up out of the water and slides right in. No pics I can try and get some this weekend but the boat is on the trailer or you can PM me with your phone number and I'll call you.

I'm on my second ladder, the first one I tore off because I forgot to put it up! However I have had no problem with stowing the ladder, I can reach down to the first rung and lift & slide it right in. I would guess something is bent on your ladder.

My ladder (4 step) is tubular and telescopes into itself. I also use a web strap attached to the last rung. It collapses into itself so I am only folding 1 14" section into the mounting bracket.
Good Luck.

Never a problem with mine - unless you don't slide it in straight.
The way I put is in, is to lean over the edge, grab the center of one, raise it up, slide it in. repeat as necessary...
If you don't stick it in straight, it'll go in crooked, knock too hard against the sides, and there will be resistance....
If you slide it in, a little bit at a time, when you get about halfway in... then you can ram it home....
Wait... we are talking about the ladder, right?

I'll have to try this.
Hope she (the boat) cooperates.....

Check the top ends of the rails for burrs. Mine had some when I took it out of the box. They didn't cause any problems for me, but if you have them on yours they could be digging in on the inside of the brackets. The burrs are easily removed with a file.
