I currently have a 13 3/4 X 15 Aluminum prop on my 2008 90hp 4 stroke Mercury motor. There is a stainless steel prop 13 1/2 x 15, 15 spline from a yamaha 1999 90hp motor for sale. Will this ss prop work on my motor?

I know Mercury props will fit other brand motors with adapters but I don't know if it works the other way. I have a Merc prop on my Honda. What about this:

Something to think about that prop will bring your RPM's up by 200 RPM.

It's a prop by prop thing as I found out. The spline is the same but the thrust washers and spacers can be different. I ran my old merc 13 1/4 on my yamaha when I got it, but had to use a different washer. It was the wrong pitch but a place to start testing and that prop was paid for. I was in a rush and ran to bass pro to grap a differnt pitch prop. I was sold a "hight thrust" mercury prop for pontoons. I told them I was putting it on a yamaha and they thought I was crazy. As it turns out the new hub system that the prop used wouldn't work with the yamaha. It went right on but the washer at the front would press against the housing of the lower unit. If it would have been a standard hub like my old quicksilver prop it would have been fine. I ended up returning the prop and just mail ordering the yamaha prop. Most likely the yamaha prop wil work but you'll have to swap washers or something.

Thanks for all your replies. I did find a used stainless steel prop that fit my motor for $75 on craigslist.
