On my Ford truck forum this was discussed. Think it might work for marine use also

I like that stuff, I used it on the brackets I use to hold my grill to the rail of my toon. Worked great and is more durable than I thought it would be. I also used it on a couple other items for my grill and things for the boat. Only problem, is it doesn't come in a good container to seal up, probably after 2-3 months after I opened it, it was drying up from the top and was almost unusable at that point. So, if you need to dip something just find several things to dip, I was looking for anything to dip! But if you get what you want done I guess wasting a litte bit isn't too bad.

Overall - good stuff! :thumbsup :thumbsup

seriously, who the hell would paint their car (and an AUDI) with Plasti-Dip, and it doesn't even look like this guy lives in the hood! I've used it, but never thought of painting my car with it.

There's a lot of bad press out there about Plasti-Dip on whole cars. Everything from peeling, to oil staining, to trapping moisture and dirt underneath. Seems like a lot of work for a sort of temporary coating.
They sure do look nice tho when first done!
I've used it just a few times on small items and it does indeed put on a nice coat.

Reminds me of that movie cannonball run. When they get chased by police and hide and peel the paint off.
I could cause mayhem and then change my car quickly!

Same thing in the movie 'The Jackal' with Bruce Willis. He takes it off with a pressure washer in about two minutes.
