I realize this is one of those ambiguous questions but being a newb I thought I would ask anyway...

If you were to " ballpark" estimate what this would cost I would appreciate it...

1. I have already purchased Blue Sea "Add a Battery" Switch and now need it installed by someone that knows what they are doing..(which isn't me)

2. Bought a new fishfinder and need it installed....wired

3. Need to buy and have installed a smart gauge or at least a gauge to track engine hours.

There seems to be a good small town dealer in Pittsburg Mo by Pomme de Terre (where my boat is stored) that I thought I would check out. They are Verado certified and show a few awards. My other option is to go back to Lake of the Ozarks Marine Max dealer where I bought the boat last year which is about an hour from storage..I'm guessing they will be a lot higher.


Any thoughts?

If you're selling dealer is not close by, I would suggest finding a good "Indy" boat repair facility to do minor repairs. Any mechanic that has Verado experience has been to school, as they're double complicated engines.

You're probably looking at a 1/2 day labor to add a $60 proofmeter, a fishfinder and a battery switch. It all depends on how hard it is to get the wiring from your driver's console to the engine. Sometimes having aluminum sheeting on the bottom of your boat between the toons can complicate running wiring.

Are you also going to be adding a second battery? With one battery I don't see any benefit to having a switch. I take a cellphone to call my fishing buddies to come get me--and a set of jumper cables that are sometimes handy.

I had this Smartcraft System Monitor installed on 2 of our workboats (Mercury 40HP Jets). It was around $250 installed each. The monitor covers tach, hours, fuel flow, voltage, engine temp, oil pressure, inlet water temp, etc.

It's plug and play for nearly any late model Mercury OB, so if you're comfortable with carving up your dash you can do it yourself. Comes with all necessary wiring for $130 +/-.
