So we went to the marina toda just to start up the motor and let it run for a little and clean the boat up some. Well my boat was nowhere to be found so I called marina and she didnt know and said she would call manager and I called the mechanic shop that came out to work on boat. Got in truck and drove down to marina and still no answers. She gets book out to check last dock checks which was last week and no boat was in either slip that I was suppose to be in. So she goes thru other docks and sure enough my boat has been moved to another set of slips away from the one I was in. So I have found my boat so I'm now relieved....until I get up to the boat and start inspecting it... The boat is backed into the slip to start with so I assume the mechanics moved it there so they could work on it but why leave it there and not take it to the right slip... The lid to the motor is just sitting there not fastened... It has a few scratches but nothing major. Then I see the big crack... It's not going to hurt the performance of motor, but it's the point that it was not like that before... Now I'm a little upset but still thinking shit happens and the motor is running perfectly... Then I look over to the ladder... The slip has a corner anchor in it and it looks like they backed the boat in at either a fast speed or pulled it in really hard becaus the ladder has hit the anchor and brackets so hard that it's going to have to be replaced before season in order to get into the bot from the water. The girl at the marina says that the boat probably came untied and someone put it in the slip, but I don't see 5 ropes coming untied, the the ties being laid on the walkway of my old slip, plus I had my batteries plugged up and one cord was laying on dock and other one was hanging out the side door into the water!!! What would y'all do in my situation? I'm calling to talk to shop mgr and marina mgr Monday. Again sorry this is so long

Seems to me that the Marina should be responsible for any damage.
If you have the boat insured (and you should), call them and file a claim. The insurance company will fight the Marina and/or their insurance for recovery.

Yes I have insurance. I also have pics I will post here in a few mins. They don't have cameras at the marina and you cant tell who actually moved it or damaged it, but it is suppose to be a 24 hr security marina and have locking gates that leads down to each set of slips... Well the gate that goes to the set of slips I stay in has been broke since the beginning of summer so the gate stays chained open 24/7

if u look closely at the ladder u can tell that its bent where it folds. The strap that holds it brok last summer so it wont stay folded (or didn't) by itself unless its tied.

Might be time to look for another marina if they're not watching after and taking care of your boat better than that.
I once had an inboard-outboard boat in a marina, and they were not watching the boats. Had a slow leak in a bellows, and the boat sank. We wrapped a blue tarp around it, and pumped out the water. Getting the alternator and starter rebuilt and the fuel system cleaned out was pretty costly.

Call insurance company. Like boatcop said, your policy likely has a subrogation clause, which means they insurance company will pay you, then go after the marina for the loss. That way you don't become the bad tenant at the marina (assuming you stay there).
Its likely your slip contract has a "hold harmless" clause, but the insurance company lawyers will eat that alive.
