connecting fuel tanks

Newbie, I have 3 way connector for gas lines 1 to engine 1 to gas tank #1, 3rd one to gas tank # 2. My question the gas line going to engine the one from 3-way connecter to engine is this the only line that needs squeeze ball' Anyone have diagram? Than k you

Fuel ball should go on the line going to your engine from the 3-way connector.
