Ok, so I have been looking for a few weeks now and I think I have narrowed the search down. I am trying to decide between a Sweetwater 2086 or a Sunchaser DS22. Both are with in a couple hundered bucks in price and both have the 60 Bigfoot and basically the same options including 25" toons. Any input would be great. Also anyone with one of these set ups please let me know speeds with the 60. THANKS!!!

I would go with the Sweetwater. Godfrey Mfg. makes a great product (Sweetwater, San Pan, Aqua Patio). They are renowned for quality through all of their Pontoon lines.

Go for the biggest engine it or your wallet will take, no one here has every said I wish I had a smaller engine, and it is cheaper to buy it now, than to up grade later.

60 bigfoot is the best my wallet can do right now. Both pontoons are within a couple hundred bucks of each other so that is my sticking point. Have heard good things about both companies.

I have had two DS 22 and have liked both of them. I have the fish package with vinyl floor. The factory has been good to work with and both problems I have had were probably caused by me. I like the layout with the fishing chairs out in front of the fence. I had a 75HP on the first one and it would go 19 MPH with two people and 30 gallons of fuel.

tootin my horn here, the Sweetwater is our first pontoon purchase, though considered an entry level boat, it is well constructed with nice fittings and finish that compares to the mid level toon models of the other manufacturers, and the Godfrey warranty and customer service is tops from what I've read. Im running a yamaha 70, so I don't know what you'll get with the merc, prolly 20+ mph, and a bit less with longer logs on the sunchaser, but you'll be able to add more hp to the sunchaser if you upgrade in the future.

I agree with lakerunner, you'll be happy with either choice, and thats what counts in the end.

Thanks for the help guys. After looking at both I think I will be going with the Sweetwater. The quality of construction and appearance just seem to be better to me. I will post pics when I pull the trigger.
