Box Anchor - Small or Large?

I'm new to pontoons and boating, got my boat last July. I want to invest in a box anchor but am unsure about size. My pontoon is 25' and I boat only in a small 400 acre lake. I've seen many posts that say a small box anchor is good enough. I want good holding, but since I'm 64 years old, not any heavier than necessary. Advice, please.

We use the small one with our toon on an 800 acre spring fed lake. It should be plenty and it works great in most every situation.

As Tom said, a small should be fine.

I just unboxed my "Small" and it is by no means small. I am headed to the lake and report a windy day test, but based on weight and construction, this seems more than adequate for most pontoons, unless you are in the 27ft 300hp class.

After anchoring in sand, clay and mud, there is no way you would need a Large. Unless you have good thick anchor rope, it's a haul getting this thing up from the bottom. I am impressed with the purchase, and the sale at Overton's definitely saved me some money (and a trip to West Marine). I highly recommend the small!

If you can get your hands on some steel material and know how to weld or someone who does you can make them for $15 or $20.
I used to use two of these but now I just use one box and one digger.
