Prop Question

#1 Post by hueyflyer » Sat Mar 23, 2013 12:26 pm

My 'toon has a 50 HP Johnson. I keep it moored (fresh water) all summer long and every fall when I pull it out for winter winter storage here at home the paint is just about gone off the prop. I would like to trim the motor up out of the water when moored, but my power trim leaks down after a couple of hours and I cannot reach the manual up trim lock from the dock. I stripped what paint was left this past fall and really cannot see painting it again. I am tempted to just leave it bare aluminum this summer. Any see a problem with this? I really do not see a difference between the bare aluminum toons and it.

Thanks
Jack

Well, unless you use some of that Stainless Steel paint, right? Everybody knows Stainless props are better than Aluminum!

I painted my stainless prop black to look like aluminum so it would not get stolen. :biggrin2
