Underwater Fuel Line

Took delivery of the Aqua Patio last Fall. Dealer installed a water separator, and changed the routing of the fuel line. It lays in the bottom of the pan, in front of the transom. If the boats is not moving forward, this pan gets several inches of water in it. The primer bulb is completely underwater. I don't like it, and expect to ask the dealer to correct it. Salesman bragged about the expertise of their setup man.
Anyone else have similar setup? Maybe it's not a problem, but it just doesn't sit well with me to have the hose underwater. I'd think it would speed up deterioration of the rubber hose.
Clean, freshwater lake, with boat stored on a lift.

I would agree with you. I would not want my fuel line under water. There is always a chance water could seep into the ball and cause a problem. I would think.

That's rediculous! I could only image what would happen to me in salt water if that happened.

Time for a new salesperson and setup man then, because no fuel line should ever be underwater at any time.

Dealer did a great job of correcting this. Fuel now exits from the front of the spin-on filter, and the primer bulb is anchored firmly to the front wall of the transom pan. Good job by Old Point Comfort Marine of Higgins Lake, MI.
Now, if they could just fix the trim gauge on the Honda.
