Rainy Lake closing in on ice out record!

I wasn't kidding when I said it was a long, cold winter.
Big ol Rainy still has dumb asses walking out to sit on a bucket for Northern.
Walleye season opened yesterday and there is very little open water for a boat.
Crappie are hitting like crazy in the shallow bays.
The main ice sheet just keeps bouncing off of various shores, depending on wind direction. Kind of like a cube in a drink glass.
Ten days to the record, and we just hit another cold snap :donno

I guess it don't matter too much. Still boat building...after a solid year or so. I don't know how Ty does it.

IIRC, this time last year the water temp was almost 70 and the air temp was in the mid to upper 80s.
Yesterday it got to about 68 with a brisk NW wind and the water temps are struggling to get to the low 60s.
On the bright side, it's a beautiful, cool (48 right now) Mother's Day.
So Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there!

79 degrees today and STILL that huge mf of an ice cube bobs merrily out on the big water.
My boss just bought a new PTX and can't seem to sit still...just waiting for open water. I'll still be able to take him tho :box except maybe in the fuel consumption category :scared
