You're not old. I have shoes as old as you--no kiddin'.
And when I was at your age, I had the fastest motorcycle they made at the time--Suzuki GS1100. The wife made me get rid of the motorcycle after the first kid was born (late in life) to minimize my personal risks.
Now, I'm just stuck with a 68 mph Waverunner--without brakes.

I had a GS 1100 E too . Loved that bike. Lucky I didnt kill myself on it , it was fast and I was 19 when I bought it. Put over 110,000 on that bike before she had to be put away. I think it was like a 10.3, 1/4 mile if I remember correctly. Pretty good for a stocker back in the day.

I'm 39 with 15 years experience at it.
Other than I haven't kept my body like I should, the rest of life just got better after 39 the first time.
I hope the same for you!

I've had a motorcycle license for 41 years now, still riding, but I put more miles on the pontoon last summer.

i prefer to think of myself as 21 with 50 years of experience. Nobody ever expects a 21 year-old to be able to do s*&t and I like it that way.

I was 25 years old, a single man with an inboard outboard boat and a lake house.
12 years later, I got married and had a child. I already had switched to a pontoon boat.
Look up, and you're 50, and still running that pontoon boat.
Then quickly, you're 60, and still running that same 25 year old pontoon boat.
Boy, those pontoon boats can be a great value if you keep'em dry and out of the weather. Too bad cars are not the same way, as i've been through more than 50 new cars.

Damn! All of you old pharts are old!
(please don't take offense)
I just turned 30 this year, and hope to God that I"m still as active as many of you guys are on here when I get to be your age. Until then, I'm enjoying the time I have, to the fullest extent of my wallet.

If you ask the Admiral, I'm 12 with 44 years of experience. "Growing Up" is definitely NOT on my agenda.
