Brought the next project home, have a question

A 97 Fisher Freedom 240 with Permadeck flooring! First thing is replacing the carpet with vinyl. So I started removing everything, now it looks like this.

My question is: Does anyone have any recommendations for the adhesive I should use for the vinyl? I see glue for wood decks and glue for aluminium decks, but none for the plastic that is on my boat. I am guessing the aluminium glue would be the closest, but I thought I would ask before I order it.

Thanks guys, I will keep you updated on my progress.

Jim

Jim is that the Fisher that was on Lancaster Craigslist without the motor ? I was considering that one until I found a few Trackers nearby. One is in Havre DeGrace.

As for the vinyl adhesive, not sure as my Starcraft rebuild had wood decking.

Yes, it is the one from craigslist. I had to wait him out for over a month until he lowered his price to something a bit more reasonable. It is a 1 owner boat with only a few trips to blue marsh lake every year. When I noticed it had the permideck on it, my interest went up! Now All I have to do is find the right glue and get her ready for the water.

I saw this while perusing the Overtons website. This manufacturer states different glue for wood, aluminum & fiberglass. Not sure if this can help you or not but the video of the application was interesting.

Well, I guess I need some solvent based adhesive.
Anyone need 2 gallons of water based adhesive I just ordered from PontoonStuff.com? :biggrin2

Yeah Jim I have a bunch of 'toons I'm watching. Some guys start out at NADA then lower to more realistic prices. Watch a 2011 24 ft Tracker now... :prayer

My PC went to Canada for above NADA after I got a bunch of low ballers here.

Wow, yes they do! I will have to get a friend in the engineering field to decipher their info for me though. I don't see a section for "What glue do I use for gluing my pontoon vinyl to a plastic floor" :donno It is all chemical mumbo-jumbo to me!

I found this stuff:
https://secure.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi

Overton's Indoor/Outdoor Do-It-Yourself Carpet Adhesive
$39.99/ gallon
for use on marine-grade plywood, fiberglass, aluminum
