Just had our new 2011 Forester delivered. I picked up a Sony radio (DSX-MS60) that I need to install. One question I have is; The bracket doesn't have tabs or ears as I expected to keep it from falling inside the console. It came with a strap to support the back but what is too keep the entire unit from just falling inside?
Also, what type of antenna do most folks use?
Neither the Sony radio or the infinity speakers came with templates to cut the holes, lame!
Horrible directions on both as well. I'll probably have more questions once I get this issue resolved, lol.

What are you mounting it with? I just use a cheap wire antenna. It works better than I thought it would. If you have something like this.
http://www.amazon.com/MRC5-Universal-Ma ... ereo+cover then the stereo will not fall through. The mount is attached to your boat and the stereo is attached to that.

Re: Stereo installation
to keep stereo from falling in requires a finish ring around the stereo which makes it larger than hole. I would add the stereo enclosure as described above; it solves your falling in problem and protects stereo. That is what I have and I like the protection it provides the stereo.
