Overlapping bunk boards

#1 Post by reelin in the years » Sat Jun 01, 2013 6:46 pm

My bunk boards are in dire need of being replaced. The old ones were overlapped with a L shaped notch, considering cutting them at angle. Any input which way is the better way to go?

I would suggest you go to a dealership carrying good brands of pontoons and see how their trailers are setup.

My bunks are in a V with factory built bunk supports.

When I replaced my bunks on last trailer they used 20ft 2x4's I couldn't find bunk carpet longer than 12'. I used 2 10' 2x4 per run or 8 10' for all with a 12" gap between the 2. Worked out great and I was able to cover more log than with just a 20
