Due to the hot summer sun that has been hitting me and the wife hard, so this year I am going to try this and see how it work, on the swimming beach or on the front of the boat fishing. I picked up 2, 3 1/2 foot umbrellas with a adjustable post at big lots and attached them to a folding chair with some heavy duty PVC pipe rings and wire ties that way it all folds up for storage. time will tell how well it works out.

I'm sure to keep it from blowing out. We use a piece of foam pipe insulation. Holds it nice and snug

Not sure if it tilts. It is made to drive into sand use stakes and rope to tie down wings for protection.

Yea. I was checking them out online. Doesn't look like they tilt. But still looks like the best type of umbrella to use especially with those wings. Might be making a PontoonStuff.com purchase for a table set & flush mounting plate and a trip to Costco for an umbrella.

oldcoot- what is the brand of your umbrella? Is it a beach, patio, or sport kind?
