Can you please look and tell me what size prop you have, so I can have a close starting point to start trying props, we hit 22 mph with the prop we had on, but it looks more like a speed prop than a pontoon prop, now I'm embarrassed now, I can't remember what prop came with the engine we bought, oh well I look in the morning and get it on here.

I've had good luck with 13p for heavier loads, it should turn around 6k with that prop with a light load. My 15p is my best cruise/speed prop.

How many rpm's is it turning?

It said 6600 RPM, but I'm thinking that my gauge might not be right, that's why I want to grab the engine guy and take him for a ride

Hard to tell w/o boat info-length, pontoon size, etc. Chek my sig line for my setup-I'm running 16 in aluminum and a 17 in stainless---alum is faster than the stainless. I'm running 28 with the alum and 26 with the stainless. 90 Optimax. Motor redline is 5800.

I keep forgeting I removed my info to run John's Dancing Hero's, but I have a 20 foot with 23 inch toons, and so i shouldn't have been doing 6600 then :rofl

Probably won't help you much Herb, since our boats are such different sizes, but I run a 17p 13 1/4" dia prop. I get maybe 23gps, on a calm day, with 2-3 on board. 5,500 rpm.

Thanks guys, he said he had a few laying around, so I see what he has laying around to try, but we need a better RPM reading than I'm getting right now
