We have a 1998 Force 90 2-stroke outboard with a mechanical steering system.
What's an acceptable grease to use for the Zerk fitting for the shaft on the outboard end? OK to use the marine bearing grease I have in my gun?

That's what I've always used.

Sure any water rejection grease works.
