First Day Out - 2013

#1 Post by BoatCop » Sun Jun 16, 2013 3:06 pm

Hard to believe that today was the first toon trip out this year. Had my sister & brother-in-law from Oklahoma, so we took them, my Mom, her husband and my Uncle out on the River.

Everything went without a hitch. Toon ran great. New Humminbird worked perfect. And to top it off, my Mom (who plays a lot at our local Casino) used her comps to get me a slip at the Casino's Marina for a week. She has one of those super secret "Black" casino club cards, so she can renew it each week for free, so I may have the boat in the water all summer. Nice floating slip, directly under a light and security camera.

Looks like I might just put teflon skids on the trailer while the boat's floating.

Just for comparison purposes, 7 full sized adults & full 30 gal fuel and was able to pull 22 MPH on GPS with the 90 EFI Merc.

With just me, the wife and 2 teen grand-kids, got 30 MPH last summer. (GPS)

So I guess I'm pretty satisfied with the performance.

Happy Father's Day to all you Mothers out there! :eviltaunt

Alan... I know the feeling... last year I had my boat out by mid April... this year, she still sitting in the storage building.... and from the looks of it ( son and daughter in law are closing on a house about 140 miles south of here ) I'll be spending the next 2 or 3 weekends helping my son move... so more than likely my toon won't hit the water til July ( hopefully ).
