Here is what I have. The boat wiring is; Pink is hot. Black is ground. My new sending unit from moeller has one black and one white, and the instructions do not tell which wire is hot. I would assume the black is ground, but I dont want to make a mistake and goof up anything. I can't believe they did't help the customer out by telling what the color code is on their product.

The center one is usually the + but then it's just a potentiometer, so it doesn't makes a difference, you just need to make connection, if it doesn't work switch them

White OR pink is sender, black is ground.

I found that diagram too, and wired it up, but I still don't know why they couldn't put a simple label on the package. As I said before, the new unit had a black and white wire...no pink to be found. Both wires feed into a reed switch on top of the sending unit...in other words, there was no seperate ground screw to hook a wire on. Guess I am so used to home wiring, where black is always hot and white is the common...I was inl a hurry, so I quickly posted here for some advice. Can anyone see how that can be confusing? Anyway thanks for the help folks. Now off to the river we go!!
