Hello, I am sure the old pitch queston has been asked a million times here but if someone could help me with my setup that would be appreciated.

I have a Harris FloteBote 20CX. Mercury 60HP EFI Bigfoot with a 11P prop on it currently. 5500 WOT RPM and 19MPH. I am looking to get some moretop end speed. We cruise alot and dont do a lot of towing watersports. Looking to get to get to 25MPH if possible.

Typical load is wife, 2 small kids, cooler, and typical gear(lifevests, anchor, snad toys etc..)

Any help would be great.

I don't think a prop is going to help you reach your goal. You might want to start looking for a bigger motor first.

25 isn't happening with a 60.

You'd need to switch over to a 90 or the largest motor allowed on your boat to get 25 mph out of it. A 115 hp motor may be required to get you up to the speed you desire.

The larger motor would make the boat much more seaworthy, and ultimately pleasurable.

You would struggle to get that with a two pontoon boat and a 90 with a full load. I agree you're asking for the impossible with your current motor. I have a 90 on a 20' with two pontoons and 27 is the fastest I've ever gone and that was in a river going downstream with a light load :rofl

I'd think that an 11 P would or should be near perfect for your boat. Did you purchase it new or used? You may be experiencing issues of run-ability such a fuel restriction due to a dirty fuel filter, or maybe spark plugs that are somewhat fouled or need re-gaped or replaced. But anyway in your case I'd check out the maintenance items for being right first before I'd be buying and replacing props on the boat.

Ok Agreed that 25mph is not realistic. I am still buying a spare prop which is the title of my thread. Any luck with top end speed if I go to a 13p prop?

I'm going to look for a self-adjusting zero-slip 99.9% efficient prop. That should get my barge up to...hmm...40 MPH with my 115 at 50% throttle. All I have to do is find a good source of unobtanium, to make the prop myself. Oh, and I also will have to coat my toons with a teflon/unobtanium blend to give me zero drag. Shoot, if I had that, I could go 40 on a 10 HP kicker! Perfect!

I had a 14 x 12p on my new 60 bf and got 19mph and only 5200 rpm at wot . I switched to a 4 blade prop 13.8 x 10p and now i get out of the hole alot quicker and hit 21mph per gps. And at wot i hit 6100rpm perfect.
