water impeller question

Quick question for you " outboard mechanics" out there. During this past off season, when I had my boat serviced I had a new water impeller put in.... so today when I had the boat out for the first time I periodically looked back to make sure there was a good stream coming out of the "pee hole".... and there was..... but my question is, when I shut the motor off, I noticed that there was still a stream of water coming from the pee hole for just a bit.... now it may have done it the whole time I've owned the boat and I've just never noticed it ( which wouldn't be surprising since I wouldn't be looking for that with the motor off ). But i did notice it today... shut the motor off and the water continued to stream out of the hole for a short time. Is this normal? I was kinda thinking that maybe since this is a new water impeller that there may be better "pressure" which causes the water to continue, but that's me just taking a wild guess. Never did hear any alarms or anything and the motor ran just fine....
