we go to tices schoal in Barnegat bay often, when we go to leave 6 hours later the prop keeps cavitating ,tried different angles on trim but same prob.the water is rougher when we leave and always higher winds, is the depth and rough waves the culprit ? water depth 2 & 1/2- 3 ft,this happens only at this location. 08 suntracker 21 ft 90 2 stroke with 2 adults and 3 kids on board.

My Party Cruiser would cavitate severely in rough water. I added a Doel Fin and it solved the problem.

Do you have room to drop the motor down a few holes on the transom? Just an inch or two may make a big difference.

Most 2 toon boats do best with the anticavitation plate parallel to the toons. Power trim doesn't do anything to help running because you're plowing through the water--the boat's general design.

About all you can do is move the people to the rear seats, as weight on the front end will lift the rear end. And like Bryan says, the engine probably needs dropping on the transom. Sometimes just an inch lowering makes a difference.

My 24' two-toon Tracker was rigged with the motor too high and it cavitated even in dead calm water. Dropped it to the lowest position and that helped immensely, all else remained the same. If I trim too high it will still blow out, so I installed a trim gauge to see where it's at because I can't see the motor and have a hard time judging by sound.
