Cleaning compound for my rails

I thought I was in trouble with spots on my rails. Only had the toon for 6 months, but have had it in the water since delivery. Had cleaned things the weekend before and all of a sudden noticed a cloudy hard spot film on almost all my outside rails. I'm that crazy about keeping things clean, so I went to work. Tried degreaser, hard water spot remover, vinegar and water (the kids loved that smell :lol3 :lol3 ) and finally found the fix.

I'll get pictures of the finished product, but this was the magic ticket. Now, I can't feel my fingertips and my nails and cuticles are grayish black, but everything is right in the universe. If anyone doesn't mind a lot of elbow grease, I highly recommend this (very expensive) product. Everything else I found, including my magic Meguire's cleaner wax didn't do the trick.

Just don't use the product too often or you may lose your anodization, which is a plating of some kind..

I spray some WD-40 on a rag and go over mine when they start to look sun faded. Then after they are clean, I dab some 303 Protectant on another rag and hit them. Lasts for a long time. Does'nt harm the anodizing. I use the same 3m polish on my bare aluminum. It does work good!

Wait..."very expensive" AND "lot of elbow grease" aren't supposed to go together :rofl

We just used a real fine steel wool on ours to clean them up
