I know we have all seen different colors of lights from many of us on here in the past. And I think all of them are very cool looking, no doubt.
With that said I'm sure there are folks on here that haven't yet decided what they are going to do yet and others that will be using the search button later on when they are deciding what kind of lights they are going to put on their boat.
This is my LED journey--
I hope this helps somebody somewhere.
I saw that most folks seemed to put green on their boats but for whatever reason I used the blue ones.
I placed them facing outwards and it actually worked very good at attracting shad and being able to see the rods good enough.
The LED's facing outwards was a mistake because over the last year or so I have had them on I had knocked out several of them from either bumping into the dock or stumps and I went from being proud of them to only turning them on when I wanted to attract shad.
When I first bought my lights I didn't know about the different lumens of these strip lights.
I was going to order another strip of blues to replace what I already had and just figured i would be more careful with them so as to not knock them out again. I only found the blue LED's in 150 and 300 lumens.
So what I did was order 2 more strips of green 600 lumens and mounted them facing DOWN which should protect them from the bumps that KO'd my last ones.
I connected the two green light strips on the front with the blues just cause I had the blues and didn't want to just throw them away.
I took a pic tonight and its CLEAR that the 600 lumen green lights put out a lot more light than the 300 lumen blue lights.
Look at the front of the boat where the blue lights are, and compare how much light they put out compared to the greens.
I just thought I would throw this into a post and it may help someone when they are deciding what they want to do.

I hate goats, my brother has one and the POS eats your wiring and pulls rubber trim off your truck, traliers and eats it
