I noticed on my 150 Merc Outboard that the fin above the propeller that bolts to the bottom of the cavitation plate is missing.

What do you call these things..Cavitation plate fin? What is their purpose and where could I find one?

The tab is to compensate for steering torque.

Thanks...I don't know how long it has been missing but I haven't noticed any difference. What should I be experiencing?

If you release the wheel it would start running left or right, and not stay straight. If it doesn't don't sweat it.

Some of them do not have torque tabs anymore. If the plate and bolt is still there, you have an anode in place of the torque tab, from the factory.
