I am going to look at a 2003 Sweetwater 18' RE with a 4 stroke yamaha 9.9 on it. The information from the owner is the 9.9 is in good working order. the seats have some condition problems and the carpet has some staining. it also has a trailer. he is asking 6k. Do you think this is a good starting point for pricing? I understand without seeing it it's difficult.

I think it is too high

Godfrey Pontoon makes the Sweetwater model, which doesn't come in an 18' length. The Challenger series has an 180 RE 18' model listed. Average retail for that boat, according to NADA is $5,880 for average retail and $5,175 for low retail. Retail is what you should expect to pay from a dealer.

Private party and if the interior needs work, I don't think it should be worth any more than $4,000-$4,350 tops.
