Looks like Tropical Storm Karen might strengthen into a hurricane tomorrow. Although it appears we won't be getting a direct hit here ya never know. Stay safe guys. I dropped the bimini and added the 1/2" lines this evening. Batten down those hatches boys!

I just got off the Carnival Elation at 3:00 this afternoon.
The Army Corp of Engineers closed the Mississippi River to commercial traffic. So we spent 36 hours sitting on the south end of that tropical storm bobbing around--with the ship's propulsion stopped. The ship was pretty stable, but the waves were quite high.
Luckily, Carnival had plenty of food and drink.
You should have heard all the people that badmouthed the situation--like it was under the control of anyone. Such storms are an act of nature, and we actually enjoyed the extra day at sea.

Great attitude, Bamaman. You did not have a choice in whether that storm disrupted your vacation, but you did have a choice in whether you let it ruin your trip. Good for you!
Ron, I hope you are safe and storm is not too bad where you are. Give us an update when you can.

We barely had anything from it. Monday morning it was stormy and maybe one funnerl cloud. Besides that nothing really. We've been lucky this season.
