I have selfishly cross linked to my build thread in hopes of catching anyone here in the general prison population that normally doesn't go to the Rebuilds and Restoration section of the forum.

Hopefully they can give me some advice on AN (Army/Navy) FUEL HOSES. I will begin assembling mine within the next few days using stainless braided hose and pretty little red and blue aluminum fittings!

Never having done them before, I researched heavily and have included a large amount of info in my thread. 98% of you will be bored to tears by this subject. I am looking for the 2% that have worked with them on cars or airplanes. Any advice on how to do this better and safer will be much appreciated. SAFER being the operative term.

The thread can be found here viewtopic.php?f=16&t=14007&start=150 at the bottom of the page.

They are very simular to compression fitting. I wrap them with duct tape before cutting them, it stops them from freying, and also helps prevent you from getting poked.

I have worked with them plenty back when I raced. Wrap it in tape before cutting, I wrapped with electrical tape, and cut with a wizzer wheel. Never had any problems doing it that way.

Yup, the tape wrap is the way to go.
