looked at a Southbay today.

#1 Post by pond tuuunes » Sun Jan 26, 2014 6:00 pm

Not sure if Im getting old or what, Tired of getting hassled by the Sheriff for noise violations? but I have been giving thought to selling my toon, and getting a normal tritoon with like a 150 maybe. I dont know, I sure like mine, but I could see saving Money on gas maybe. Southbay does have some nice toons. JT

Awwwwww come on man!!! You are one of my heros on here :bowdown :bowdown
Seems crazy for a guy like you to go from a 80 mph toon down to a 150. I will some day build myself a big bad I/O like yours, but I understand wanting to down size and southbay is a great boat that's why I just got one! What kind of length and seating arrangement are you thinking about?

I've seen your blow past us, but never thought you were THAT loud! (Cmon Lake County, give the guy a break!) Going from yours, to a 150 will be torture! The Mercs are very quiet, so the silence will be deafening for you!

Jenkins, thats one of the problems, I would like to have a few drinks on my toon, but it seems the Sheriffs keep way to close of an eye on me. I bring beers for the passengers, But I am pretty much limited to water. Maybe one or two on the island, but not on the boat. JT

Awww DUDE! Ur gonna make me feel like the Maytag Man :(
But I suppose you gotta follow your muse.

I understand your point about having a beer. I spend a LOT of time being the sober captain while my friends are getting all twisted up. After dropping most of them off, I usually end up tied to a dock somewhere and THEN its safe for me to let my hair down as I have a bed with me. :drink4

At least Minnesota allows open bottle at the helm. The Captain just has to test under .08

Same law here, but they are already watching me, and in IL they dont need a reason to do a safety check. The boat passes everytime, and so have I, it just the hassle of it. I dought I will sell it. Its to much fun beating Bajas n checkmates.
