New SS ladders

Here is the stern of my boat
I've been doing a ton of measuring on my boat, trying to fit my layout the best way possible. Because of the fuel tank being in the center tube and me wanting stern fishing chairs inside the fencing, I'm thinking I need to route the fuel hose straight out the back on the aft fence...It would favor the port side but still be in the center portion... Because of this fueling up at the gas station I would need a step ladder unless I mounted the ss ladder on the port side. I could simply fold it down climb up and fuel the boat, does anybody see anything wrong with this?

Ryan,
I only gas up at the station by my launch. I am able to stand on the bunks of the trailer to fill they bunks stick out just enough to stand on. I know it is a totally different layout than what you are asking about, but the ladder would make it ton easier!

Thanks for the response Craig, I wish I had your luxury but my boat auctually hangs past the bunks about 8" or so... There is only one place I boat at that has a fuel dock on the water, so I'm good when there but the other places require me to stop at a drive in gas station... One thing I'm thinking about is my boat is 27' long plus my truck so I'm going to take up a lotta room at the station because I'll have to pull up far enough to fuel the boat at the stern. But I guess if people get mad at me at the station for taking up so much room they'll just have to get over it. But the ladder being on the port side will make it easy to climb up there stand on the swim platform and fuel up.

Ryan,
is your fence going all the way to the edge of the floor??

The fencing I'm planning will be square in the stern it will stop right in front of the cutout for the transom.. I'm going to keep the two areas on the sides of the transom open, they will be mini swim platforms... I'm also going to have a gate on each side of the transom to make them accessible, it will also be nice to have the gates when your trying to land big fish...
There is a YouTube video on the first page of rebuilds titled (rear entry changeover) that is exactly what I'm wanting with the exception of the stern fence moving all the way back to the front of the transom cut out, so I can fit all my furniture.
I'd post the video but I don't know how, feel free to if you want.

Will you not be able to reach the fuel fill while standing on the ground for sure? I know mine will be setup so I can reach up and fuel it. Although I don't fully understand where your going to put it either. The SS ladder is made for like 400lb, so should work fine.

I think I see what your saying...you wouldn't be able to reach in far enough...correct?
Does this mean we will be seeing some progress soon?

Correct, there is no wat I'd be able to reach it from the ground. I wish my tank was mounted further foward in the tube so I could do something different. If you look in the pics the fuel hose is sticking up on the port side about 3-4' up from the stern.. The problem with this is I'm wanting to mount a fishing seat in this area so there won't be anything to hide the hose in, and there's no way I'm going to leave it exposed.... So my plan is run the hose straight out the back but I'll be able to hide it in the livewell box that will be mounted in the center in front of the transom.

Any option of running it further up towards the middle of the boat? or will there still be no furniture to run the line through?
Just throwing out options.

The way the tank is positioned, the spout the fuel filler hose goes on is pointing towards the stern. I have considered going foward but the hose would have to turn 180* and I'm rather have the hose run as strait as possible

I'm with Craig...mount it and be done. There were a few OEMs laid out that way, although you don't see them often. If you can have a clean, simple set up with the filler that you like then why not? I personally wouldn't over complicate the fuel filler inlet simply for the sake having the ladder on the "normal" side. Of course, I'm no where near normal

Do you have a 2 log or three log? Can you just put a ladder or a milk crate on the trailer and pull it out when fueling?

It's always fun going to the gas station. Get a little step stool for your vehicle. We always have to park on the end and make sure the roof is tall enough so we don't take it out. There's always someone in a real hurry but if there's two of you, one can guard the pumps while the driver gets the spot.
