Bought it!! Fish Finder

I was trolling Cabelas the past weekend and found an inexpensive fish finder.
I really wanted it for the depth finder, but the depth finders were more expensive than a fish finder/depth finder combo was cheaper.
Its nothing fancy but hope it does the job 8)

Now to have the mechanic install it lol

nice find Katie! I think the humminbird gps ones are a crazy 130 bucks!

I use mine for structure, depth and temp as well, not much fishing going on with my crazy ass dog!

Looks like a nice unit. I have been drooling over the new ones, I am using the one I got way back in 1995. It still works fine but would love some of the new features.

Nice Katie. That'll keep ya out of the mud.
Snerds words for the birds: remember your reading at the rear of the boat will give you false confidence when nearing shore. Your bow is always a foot or two shallower than your depth finder reads because of the upwards slope of the beach.

isn't the depth sender thingy mounted on the rear of the starboard pontoon?

They had a $3,000 unit there. I didn't pay that much for the boat let alone pay that for the depth finder lol

That's kinda the point I was getting at. When putting in to shore, the depth reading (at the rear of the boat) might say four feet when there might be only one or two feet at the bow.

Can't go wrong with Humminbird, they are great units. I have had them on every boat I've owned. My current unit has both GPS and Sonar.

I have Humminbird units as well, just upgraded them both in the last few years. They are both Sonar, GPS, with side and down imaging as well. With the new technology this year from hummingbird, the mapping (you can make your own) called Autochart and the 3D display for imaging is going to add a lot to these units.
