Was looking at the specs for the new graphite series of the etec HOs. Noticed two changes on the graphite series from the white and blue editions of the engine, but don't know eneough to know what they mean. Web searches told me diddly so I'm hoping someone smarter than me here can explain it...

Graphite series
Steering = remote
Trim system = power tilt and trim
Gear Ratio= 1.85:1

White and Blue series
Steering = (blank)
Trim system = FasTrakā„¢ Power Trim and Tilt
Gear Ratio= 1.85:1 high speed

Can someone tell me if there's a functional difference between these? Had a white etec ho just written off (we loved it) and trying to decide what to replace it with.

I don't see any difference. The gear ratios are the same, you're going to remotely steer with a steering wheel. It's a different color I think because Mercury is now coming out with white.
