Find a couple fat chicks that want to go for a boat ride , make them sit on the very back and see if that helps . :P

Is it actually slipping into neutral or not? You may or could be experiencing the early effects of spun hub. Also if you're in a river there is also a chance debris may be stuck under your boat that can create a similar condition.

Did see a lot of debris on the lake No not in neutral ...What would cause a spun hub ?

I would try putting the people with you sitting at the back. Give that a try and see what happens. Mine has done the same thing, and put some in the back and some in front and it fixes the problem.

A few questions:

1 - So is it actually kicking into neutral or does it feel like it is kicking into neutral (meaning, the boat stops forward momentum but the engine is still running at the same or higher RPM's)?

2 - What do you do when this happens? Do you stop, turn off engine, slow down, etc.?

3 - After this, do you start back up and everything works fine for some period of time?

4 - Can you duplicate the problem?

5 - you mentioned that it was not happening on previous trips. Are you running with the same amount of gas (i.e. weight) and same number of passengers sitting in the same seats?

I know these are a lot of questions but it sounds like you have an engine/shifting problem (see question #1) or a prop blow out problem (as others have suggested).

The getting worse part does sound like it could be a spun hub on the prop. They are (usually) rubber and can wear out from age, load, or hitting something. You can mark the hub and prop (with a sharpie or scratch it) before you take it out and then check it to see if it moved.

The quicksilver props with the flo torq square hubs are pretty easy to swap out. If you have an SS or different manufacturer, the hub may be pressed in. I have a spun SS hub I'm trying to figure out if I can fix. I've done some reading and they say you need a 10 ton press to get the old hub out...

It may be easier to buy a new quicksilver prop with the flo torq rather than find a shop that could refit your current prop.
