Seloc Repair manuals, are they worth it?

Just like the title says.
I'm looking for a good manual for my 2004 90hp 2-stroke Mercury. Mainly, to assist me in re-building the carburetors, and to have as a reference. I see iboats has the SELOC manuals for about $40. Anyone have input on these manuals?

yes they help a ton! I was lucky enough to find one for mine that went up to 1996 for free on the net. It's a 585 page pdf....

I printed out the electrical section last year during my issues. I printed the whole thing to PDF and saved it to my laptop.

I've found repair manuals to be a great investment, especially on a low tech motor that a back yard mechanic can work on.

I've yet to ever rebuild a carb. I've got to where I can remove, clean and reinstall my 2 carbs on a Yamaha 115 hp 2 stroke in about 1 hour. Just take care of those gaskets, and the only investment is a $4 can of carb. cleaner.

go on eBay you can find a bootleg factory repair manual on cd for just about any older motor, factory being the operative term. Usually five or ten bucks. Often with parts manual which is very helpful. Over the years, I've grown to like Chilton's, Haynes, Seloc less and less because of generalities and inaccuracies.

I feel the need to elaborate a bit, now that I have a keyboard to type on.
Those types of manuals have their place for sure. In fact, sometimes they simplify a task that is quite complex in the shop manual, which is great. I just get so frustrated with them trying to cover so many model numbers and years in a single edition. It has led me astray more than once. There have been straight up errors at times.
So nowadays, I certainly prefer reading the complete procedure, even though I have to wade through the complexities and 'engineer speak'. Beyond the procedures, I have found that often I can figure something out just by looking at the parts diagram. Once again tho, I MUST have the exact diagram and not a generic one.

Curtis helped me with an actual Factory manual to be had as a .pdf. I've got a usable, printable copy now saved to my computer.

I'm hoping that all new fuel lines, and a carb clean is all I need to do to eliminate my problem. But, just in case, I'm going to buy the 3 carb kits anyways, since they're only about $7 each.
