Hi all,

I'm attempting to start my 2005 Merc 50 4 stroke and it will run for about 2-5 seconds then just cut out. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be the problem?

Thanks

1. Is your vent opened on your tank? 2. Clogged fuel filter? 3. Dirty Carbs?

Did you put sea foam or stabilizer through it in the fall?

Not sure if this will help but my 90 Merc had a bad fuel level sensor in the fuel pump housing that made it flood out. It mostly would just run a few seconds and die. If you could ever give it some throttle before it died, it would run at wot. But it would never idle.
