What the hell???

So...Tracker makes some pontoons with eyes on the stern end of the log and some without. Doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason for this . In fact, I saw two EXACT same boats tonite and one had em and one didn't. Of course, mine doesn't as fate would have it. SO now Im tryingt o figure out my options for hooking a yoke up for pulling a tube. Yes, I've heard all the scary warnings about tying to the logs and you will crack them, etc. etc. I still don't buy it provided the weld seam is a quality seam .

So now I'm scratching my head trying to figure out my options other than jacking around with installing a tow bar or spending time building and mounting my own which is the LAST thing I want to do.

This leaves me wondering whether Tracker is buying these logs from multiple producers or if the design group smokes a lot of weed and decides from time to time, to randomly choose which boat get the eyes and which one doesn't...good grief!!!

Anyone have any alternate ideas?

I've seen this subject come up before. It doesn't matter whether it's got cleats or eyes, as both are perfectly strong enough for their intended purpose.

Install some stern cleats, if your boat doesn't already have them. Our toon has the eyes on the tubes, but when we purchased it, they said to use the stern cleats for pulling anything like a toon. Our cleats are made of plastic, with 2 botls running down the center. Yea. I used the cleats a few times, but eventually decided to use the eyes on the back of the logs. That was until I built my own ski tow bar. This, by far, is your best option. Pulls the rope up and out of the water, and therefore you are able to give more zing on the end of the tow rope. :biggrin2
