Sharkhide question

This week I want to apply sharkhide protectant on my toons. I should've did it before it ever hit the water but I've had it out a few times last summer (bought it new last aug). I want to clean the toons as good as I can without acid cleaning them as I don't want it to turn them the dull grey color that acid washing leaves behind. They have most of the original shine from the factory but was wondering how to get them as shiny as possible before applying the sharkhide (without going down the full polishing road). Any suggestions?

Are you looking for something you can just spray on and rinse off, how was you thinking of doing the sharkhide by hand or buffer? Buffer is the way to go but i was gonna suggest you go to advance auto parts and pickup a bottle of white diamond, place few drops on the buffer and try a spot to see what you think, very easy on off shines then use a new pad to do the sharkhide, ive seen a few just use sharkhide and it looked good but had a good area to start with, white diamonds cheap and easy to get ive tried alot over the years and thats all ill use now, if you set yourself a goal like do one pontoon section a hr or whatever is comfortable to you youll see it gets done fast and easy in no time but the buffer is the key set on 3-4 wool pad. Im not sure whats avail to put on and rinse off without leaving streaks or dark areas. Hope something here is of help to you.

whatever you do the final step to Sharkhide is wipe the surface down with lacquer thinner until there is no longer any residue on the cloth you are using to wipe the thinner off. In other words, apply to a clean surface

I am planning on applying it by hand (on a cloth as per instructions) as I don't have a buffer. Does the lacquer thinner brighten up the toons or does it just make sure they're clean? Thanks for the replies and keep the advice coming.
